I am playing a campaign game and noticed that sometimes the first ship of my own design that I build sometimes vanishes after a battle or when moving to a new objective.
Events (fire, spies) are so rapid that they are wiping out a lot of my starting efforts.
The vanishing thing: are you sure you have it selected along with the other ships in your fleet? When you give commands to a fleet, only the selected ships (the ones with blue backgrounds) obey.
Yeah, the spy stuff is dreadfully imbalanced at the moment, sorry. What you can do is jack up the secret police rating in your empire settings, which costs money but should keep them at bay a bit.
Thank you for your feedback - also consider setting a coat of arms and saying hello. :)
I had the issue of not selecting all the ships at first. However, sometimes post battle or in movement ships that were fine will vanish from the game it seems. If they can be sabotaged perhaps I am just missing the message. I will keep and eye on it and see if it persists. Thanks for the tip on the secret police
Played a bit more, invaded another city. Wiped the floor with them. Both of my ships were airborne and mostly damage free. After the capture one ship vanished from the game. The common thread is that it is only ships I have designed myself that vanish. The stock ships remain in the game.
Got it! There is a small flag that goes up after I drove someone off "HMS Kestrel Lost" even though I was still airborne at the end of the fight. What causes that game mechanic wise?
Hmm, is it possible your ships are getting their crew quarters or coal storage shot off? At that point the game would consider them no longer viable ships. Noted that this needs to be clearer.

Suggestions or corrections?
