Considering the totally cool, and opening setup of crests, I figured it should get its own thread, and expose some of its current and perhaps planned features.
Q - Can more than one bonus be active at a time? IE: If I have two crests, one for city income, and one for spies, are both active or just one?
Q - Are bonuses cumulative, and if so are there any limits? IE: If I have four scales (25+ city bonus), would it only count once, or would they add up to %100 (25 x 4) city income bonus (or graduated, 100 + 25% = 125 + 25% = 156.25 + 25% = $195.31 + 25% = 244.14)?
Q - I noticed many do not have bonuses, are these just for decor, or are their more plans for these in the future?
Would be cool if you can earn more actives based on an increase in cities, which would reflect real-world crests where the crests became reflective of the absorption of other domains.
Yeah, one of the (not yet implemented) ideas is that when you look at your empire, and in the victory screen, it would marshal your coat of arms with all the others, which should be quite pretty. :)
I'd love to see combinations of crests having a real purpose. So the more crests you put on the more bonuses you can have at the same time. So 4 different icons would provide the 4 different bonuses, but each at 25% efficiency.
Like my crest is 1 anvil, 3 waves; so Fires are put out 1.5 times faster (75% of 2 times faster) and steel armor is 12.5% more effective (25% of 50%)
As for extra bonuses:
a Sun - Do not receive accuracy penalties for sunrise or sunsets
a Dragon - start with flame throwers
a Gear - Propellers provide 20% more speed
a Vol - Sails provide 30% more speed
As for extra crests:
a Sword - Marines are more effective
a Shield - Guards are more effective
a Feather - No movement penalties for moving through non-corridors
a Bomb - Sabotage is 15% cheaper
a Horse - Fleet/Defenses maintenance costs are 20% cheaper
like the idea of 25% for each crests. If you really want a big bonus, you can play with only one crest but with 100% of efficiency. No disadventages between players !

Only the bonus from the most senior (top-leftish) charge is active.
As for the bonus-less charges, I am accepting suggestions on what they should do. :D

I really like that idea, it allows you to be able to play multiple sides of the game (i.e. the grand ram and faster boarding) without becoming to OP.
