I've had a bunch of fun already playing the game. I'm surprised at the depth that seems to be in there already. There's still a couple things I gotta figure out before I feel like I can play it properly, (e.g.: ships with supposedly enough lift seem to drop at the start of the combat, destroying ships below it) but I'm rooting for ya!
I am not sure what thread to put this in, but do the other cities attack you in the campaign. Because why do you need defenses if you aren't going to get attacked?

The painting update is cool, You thinking of adding some kind of filtering/ban list for certain ships. I have already made some interesting Sky Dicks and a Gigantic Flying Swastika. It's even easier to be offensive by painting ships.
I don't really intend on actually posting these, or playing multiplayer with them for the matter just testing out the stupid shit I can make.
I am yet to play a multiplayer game, well an online one anyway. I invited one of my friends over to play it but he did not want to buy it. (I ended up just giving him my game files and he was able to play). It was sorta okay, One of my largish ships collided with one of his, which in turn collided with something else, resulting in an infinite collision loop which really sucked the performance out of both machines (two i7 laptops). It stopped once the offending ship promptly exploded.
Also, another side note I forgot to add, after a game of multiplayer via lan, we could not immediately start another one, doing so would result in a blank and unplayable battle (this sometimes happens in campaign).
Zarkonnen is this game dead or is it just taking a long time for a big update? I can't wait to test out the boarding combat, as you wrote about, do you have a time frame ??
Taking a long time for a big update, don't worry. :) See the dev blog for development news. Time frame for the next version coming out: end of the week. I'm really just running around fixing embarrassing bugs.
Ah, it has been quite a while since being here. After trying out the newest version I am just full of joy because of how great it is (I have missed a few updates) So keep up the good work and maybe now that I am starting to free up again I will be available for some multiplayer!

Hey Zark! Just wanted to say that I have just jumped back into the game after playing several versions ago. Can't wait to try out espionage and boarding and all the fun new stuff! The early campaign I played was pretty rough but showed lots of promise!

That's an interesting effect.
See, the Triplane wont target other planes period (or often?), set to false, because planes ARE troops. It's the only example of this at the moment and haven't fully tested it; await official before casting keystrokes.
I say "or often" because "shootTroopsRange" is present.
Range will likely have interesting effects on your planes priorities as well, if attempting to create your own. It's essentially their "AI Sight Line", who to pick. The Troop modifier and Ship modifier can be different; meaning a plane could target a troop before targeting a craft.
Pretty neat.
Leads to more interesting effects in conjunction with "isMachine" if you really put the imagination to use.
And remember...
...barring Twitter. There's some pretty unscrupulous characters on that platform.
ah, sorry... i havent familliarized myself with the code of conduct untill now, and it was very late, and sombrero and i have had some issues in cooperation lately, which led to me ultimately leaving our "ww2 Planes" mod, i will follow the code from now on.

Here's my two cents about the beta so far
Biplanes should prioritize shooting down other planes before shooting airships. That's it!

Biplanes do prioritise intercepting and shooting down other planes, but triplanes don't. (Certainly that's the intent.)

Thanks psy, I will set the intercept troop range higher and see if the planes go out of their way to shoot planes that are further away.

Yup can confirm. Set their Shoot troop range higher and they will hunt down other planes even if they are further away.
