Another post talked about suspedium crystals link with crystals in the ground of similar size. Larger the crystal the greater the lift.
I assume a cracked crystal would make a ships lift systems go haywire and if it shattered would probably cripple the system.
The crystals seem tough enough to survive combat flight without being in a protective container. The sytems to use them as weapons may be too large and bulky to be efficient enough for widespread use, look at the suspedium cannon, its massive! Although I bet Zark is considering adding more suspedium based weapons to the game. I personally think suspedium gauntlets would be awesome for grenadiers.
wah wah wah.....it weighs 0 and provides good protection, it does cost alot but that is an appropriate price for what you get. You need a tradeoff if you want to reduce weight. It may look ugly but I make airships to fight not to look good. That's why PRA ships look so rough and ugly usually, function>fashion.

I'm sure a topic on this already exists, but I just need to ask a few questions.
1) How does suspendium get its lift? Is it more like a magnet? (i.e. It reacts with suspendium dust in the air and somehow produces lift).
2) If a crystal were to crack or shatter mid-flight, what would happen?
3) How tough are the crystals? If they are as tough as diamonds and very cheap, why aren't they more weaponized?
Help meh Zark, my head hurts.

Suspendium armor! Light with the stats of reinforced wood armor! Or steel! I just need a decent light armor.
Captain
What about dragonhide? Weighs nothing and is pretty good armor
Commodore
Looks hideous though.
Commodore
Dragonhide is fking expensive tho. Was thinking 12/12 def armor costs 8$?

I use steel armor, just need an extra lift chamber, but its pretty worth it.
Commodore
Well I just want a light, cheap armor that defends normally... no need for the salt...
