So, I got the 1.5 update. Yay! Boarding! Yay! Battering rams! Yay! Suspendium dust chambers and sails! WOO-HOO! But then, after a couple minutes of playing, it just started lagging the heck down. Like, a delay of about a full second between it updating the display. Even moving the mouse is tediously slow. Do you know of any way to fix this?
EDIT: Hmm, rebooting apparently. I rebooted the game and it seems to have been fixed. I will report if additional slowdown occurs.
DOUBLE EDIT: OK, note to self, don't ever speed up to X3. I had to force quit the game and restart it, because of how laggy it was.
TRIPLE EDIT: It started lagging again, about 5 minutes of play. It seems to lag most when loading my (somewhat large) building/airship list, when placing ships, and when starting battle.
QUADRUPLE EDIT C-C-C-COMBO!: It seems like, during battle, lag increases while the game is unpaused. Upon pausing, it returns to normal framerate. Then, upon unpausing, it begins to become laggier and laggier over time.
A memory issue? That actually sounds very likely. According to "About this Mac", I have 4 GB of RAM. I have a MacBook Air, 13", about 2013 model. I'll try running the game with nothing else open to see if it runs faster.
Also, completely unrelated, could you make it so the "Subscribe to topic" button on these forums doesn't erase my comment after I've typed it up? It's a little inconvenient. :P
Yeah, it would be nice if the game was more optimised. I made a huge ship (nearly 10000$) and made it fight a HMS Malign and a HMS Satan. It killed my game. I get that it's one helluva big ship, but damn, I didn't expect it to mess up so badly...
Yeah, it's an ongoing thing that I want to improve. It's surprisingly tricky, unfortunately, but be assured that it's something I want to have fully fixed by the time the game is considered done!

That sort of sounds like a memory issue - how much free RAM do you have? Can you post your system specs?

OK, not a memory issue then. Good point re: the subscribe button.
