The new turrets in the game are freaking awesome, don't get me wrong! It's just that when you place them you won't be able to place another on that side, limiting your ship to two rotating turrets. It's such a shame since many, many battleships had turrets that would rotate 270 degrees, just not behind them. My idea is to create a new turret that would only be able to fire up and forward, allowing the player to make several 'battleship' like turrets stacked against each other. Any ideas to add on to this? Changes perhaps?
I'm still kind of wary of breaking the "no guns in the same vertical position" restriction. Though I could make a massive battleship turret, which would be fun. I wonder how hard it would be to add multi-barrelled guns...
I have hoped we can place more than one in a row and off course not only at the upper and lower place of the airship...
I think it's a real problem of point of view or you can call this a paradox...
Airships and building, in the game, are built in a way you can't put something in "front" of guns or said more technically "in the same firing arc". In that case, I was waiting to see bullets detroying the front of ships or towers first !
When i saw my bullets, and unfortunately enemy's too, make side holes directly, i found that strange for the fist time.
In fact, the ability of guns to reach the side means each entity are logically at different depths and as a result, putting turrets one after another on a airships deck is obvious (a deck of guns become also possible and definitely more realistic than a tower of 10 or 20 cannons floating in the sky - less fun however lol). The same goes for airships logically able to cross each other even on the same height (when the ram option is not activated of course !).
I would appreciate to build fonctional airships WITH a realistic look (i'm not speaking about the graphics !;) ).
I'm pretty sure a mod to remove the forbidden zone when placing modules can make a good difference at that point... (too bad my knowledge on java is rudimentary)
Great God! Man, how much do you have to write to tell a simple idea... I really hope, I don't do the same.
Z, why are you warry of breaking the restriction? Is there any particular problem? It would be so much better just to make fire arc limited by other parts of the ship instead.

Yes, these turrets are usefull !

Actually, you did... with your wind suggestion yesterday ! ;)

Yes, I know. I tried to fight with it, but.. U know...)
