I just picked up this marvellous game last night, so I'm very very new around these parts and if this has been suggested before, please forgive me.
Has the possibility of logging engagements (shots fired, damage inflicted and sustained, casualties among the crew, systems failing etc) during combat been discussed. It would appeal to the wargaming geek side of people and would provide some fun After Action Reports for the community.
Also, it would be nice to be able to replay a combat and share them/upload the footage to youtube or wherever.
If this has been raised, apologies, just a bit of immediate feedback.
Hmm, replay could work, at least within one version of Airships. Just record the initial state, the random seed, and a log of inputs. I've put it in as a possible feature, thank you. :)
@BorderReiver don't worry, my first comment was wery soon after my first launch too. The game is new, and as any new born baby it has to learn a lot.
@Zarkonnen battle logs are juts replays filtered of technical information and with some nice near-random words added, like "X commanded Ship1212 to move...", "Y made a mistake of ordering...", "A storage exploaded on Y's ship Ship123" blah-blah-blah. You can make it =) It looks very nice sometimes, or very funny =D
(That's how I interpreted the part
