Ok this seems kinda strange, but it worked for ships during WWI and WWII!
Dazzle cammo is a type of camouflage that instead of trying to make ships hard to spot it breaks up the outline of the ship making it very hard to hit at long range (because its much much MUCH harder to find the speed let alone direction of travel)!
Seriously, which way are those guys going?
Dazzle cammo is WELL within the capability of the Airships nations and would be very useful for airships by giving a -accuracy modifier to enemy ships that target the dazzled ship!
It may have to be expensive, though and it'll only work if the entire ship has the camouflage installed, meaning if you want to use this you pay for an extra paint job on back walls to keep them balanced!
That will also prevent massive hulking ships from being very hard to hit on top of having a lot of health while giving almost an 'evade' stat to smaller airships, keeping them alive longer if your willing to pay as much!
This also means small ships can be just as useful as hulking ones in terms of longevity in battles, you pay 150 for a small ship, dazzle camouflage it for an additional 250 and its a lot harder to hit, making it much more useful for battles and providing an alternative to "bigger=better".
-edit- im NOT saying that having a dazzle ship will make things that hit not count and the words "EVADE!" fly up instead, that's stupid. I AM saying that gunners targeting the ship will have something like -15% accuracy towards that target as long as the gunner is aiming at it!
