I have a pretty cool idea for ships and ship design as a whole...a ship, within a ship.
Basically a Shuttle Bay Module. What one can do is have a large carrier-type vessel, and have fighters and/or boarding "shuttles" launch from the hangar. This can allow boarding parties to capture a ship, without you moving the large carrier! GENIUS!
Now the game will no longer be about the size of the ship or how many guns, but instead be based on how many aircraft or shuttles it can accommodate. Now for balancing reasons, the airship/aircraft/shuttle should only be allowed a limited armament. Therefore people won't make super-battle-carriers-monsters in multiplayer.
The aircraft carrier dictated who won the Pacific during the Second World War, and continues to dominate the seas. Now...it can conquer the skies! I know this might be a lot of coding, but Zark is an excellent developer. Keep up the good work and hopefully my dream for Airships isn't far out of reach.
And yeah in the developer post about half way down zarkonnen mentions it, i'll quote it
"So what’s definitely planned for Johnny, apart from a continual search for interesting new weapon concepts?
Landships: Not as flexible as airships, but cheaper and a bit more durable.
Most likely, small auxillary craft. This is a concept that’s been worked out in some detail by people on the forum, and I think it’s a good one.
Diesel engines: More powerful, easier to operate, but more flammable and expensive."

Cheers! :D
Air Lord, Engineering Corps
Already planned in the game! :D
Original post/concept by me, 3d model by rage3069
news thingy from the game developer mentioning the previous link
Commodore
ah... sorry, man.
It's already planned as well?
(Edit) Looked at the thread, looks awesome. Hope to see this in the future :)
Air Lord, Engineering Corps
No worries!

Also that was a REALLY fast reply holy crap!

Hehe, yeah I've been hovering around the forums for a little bit. Just happened to check the thread after you posted XD.
I was also thinking that there should be refueling ships that could ferry ammo and coal to other ships. A "milk cow" if you will.
Air Lord, Engineering Corps
Also there
Commodore
Darn, my apologies again. Maybe I should dig around the forums before accidentally repeat what other people said, lol.
TO INFINITY AND ORIGINALITY! :D
