Everything graphics-related I moaned about when I joined the forums is basically null and void now, so I'm going to moan some more! Here's a list of aesthetic improvements that could be made, some better than others:
Steaming Cup of coffee/water off to the side of the strategic map.
Closed letter sealed with the insignia of your empire.
Partially opened letter off to the side of the strategic map.
Pens/Stencils off to the side of the strategic map.
Globe and/or world map off to the side of the strategic map. (possibly procedurally generated map?)
If it's not too hard to code, the corners of pages on the desk could curl upward slightly? (casting a shadow)
Cannon contrails can be made more or less transparent in a setting.
Togglable "shaky cam" option that jitters the camera whenever it's zoomed in on an explosion. The camera could also shake when zoomed in on absurdly heavy landships walking, and airships landing/crashing, or things getting rammed.
Mud drips off landship feet and the bottom of ungrounding airship hulls in rainy weather. (could possibly leave a stain on the feet/hull)
Snow falls off landship feet and the bottom of ungrounding airship hull in snowy weather. (could possibly leave a few particles of snow on the feet/hull)
In dry weather feet of landships create dust clouds. (bigger clouds for heavier landships)
(Dev stream related suggestions)
Landship legs should stop moving when the Landship stops, instead of taking another step to their "default" position
Bullets shot from a landship should appear behind the leg layer
Er. What I mean to say is: Most of these ideas look really good, and I'm going to do them, with the exception of:
Steaming cup of coffee: Good idea, might be too hard to do while matching the art style.
Globe: Same problem re: art.
Upwards-curling pages: Might look good, going to have to try if I can get the right effect.
Cannon contrails setting: Haven't heard of anyone actually disliking them, so wary of cluttering up settings.
Landship legs should stop moving: So if they stopped immediately, the landship would likely be weirdly ahead of the leg positions, which would look weird.
In hindsight, a 3D mug or globe probably wouldn't mesh well with the 2D strategic map and table.
To clarify, if a landship were to stop moving, the legs could stop wherever they land after it stops, instead of taking another step to get into the default position.
More dev stream related suggestions, apologies if you're already planning to fix this:
Landship legs, last I've seen, take very short steps. Because of this, the legs move very fast, and landships look more like big spiders than big stompy war machines.
You added code that causes the legs to curl up when not connected to the ground. But I still looks bad, because the transition is intimidate. You don't see the legs fold up and stretch out again, they snap in and back out again. I'm not sure how you could easily fix this without adding smarter leg AI.

Were also still missing those DLC hats that were eluded to in another post! XD

Sparks could fly up off of debris when a landship walks on them.
Birds shouldn't fly during night or during rain. (But where do all the birds go when it rains? D:)
When you pick a screen resolution, (which starts the game and it's menu song) replace the click sound effect with cannon3.ogg to make it more epic.
