I just got to thinking recently. We know that there are naturally occurring plants in the world of Airships that draw suspendium from the environment in much the same way that normal plants take nutrients and moisture. Including a number of trees. Would it be possible to make hulls from the wood of such trees in order to lighten an airship?
It may be problematic when it comes to building ships, though. You see, the alignment of suspendium crystals in the three would limit the ways in which you can place the wood while still providing lift.
Not really, if a plant uses suspendium for lift or to lower its weight that means it would have probably evolved/adapted/whatever to align all of the suspendium properly.
Yep, wood from Suspendium-accumulating trees does have all of the Suspendium aligned properly.
Lift-generating Suspendium wood armour is something that might make it into the game, yes. Not super-hard to do, but I do have to add a bunch of code to account for lift from armour. (Lift isn't just negative weight.)
I think a lift-generating armour was suggest some month ago, but was a steel-typ armour.
Those trees should be some sort of oak which are somewhat rare and can lift chunks of the ground. So the wooden armour would have quite a damage resisten and a high price. A mechanic, to make lift-generating armour intesting, could be that the armour must be connected to a active suspendium-chamber directly or indirectly by other lift armour.
Couldnt you just have 'Suspendium Enriched Wood' and 'Suspendium Composite Steel' armour, that is just very, very light? (While costing a bit more, and being slightly less protective)
If you have a bit of wood, and it weighs 'x', then you have a block of wood of the same size, but enriched, it will weigh less than 'x'
Hmmm... That could mean that lift armor could be used to drastically increase the maximum service ceiling of small airships. It doesn't really affect them if the armor is poor, since they're already fragile, so it would make them ideal to have it applied!

Sounds plausible provided there is a suspendium plant with bark..
Cant believe i never thought if this!

SCIENCE!!!
Also, where do you think lift generating armour would fit compared to others?
I would imagine it to be less durable and slightly cheap right? (assuming suspendium trees are either common, or huge)
