I think it would be cool to set up a whole new layer of ship construction designated as co-ordination. This would be a system of bells, pneumatic letter chutes, or telegraph lines, that could be used to customize weapons firing arrangements, order of discharge, or grouping of batteries, allowing for the targeting of multiple ships, mass engagement, long range/short range shooting gallery's, and specialized firing, movement, boarding, or repair routines. I realize that this is a bit of an undertaking, but I think that it can be simplified. Bells are emergency warning systems that allow mass exodus to specific hardpoints in case of a rooms safety being compromised, or re routing of munitions and manpower pending the ships immediate needs. The other two methods are more expensive and require specialized crewmembers, but would have acces to more complex orders, firing routines, etc. I would be interested to here if anyone had ideas on this, or knows of a similar thread.
So... let me get this strait. You could have an ammo store and five guns, and you could customize how the ammo moves through service tubes? And have fire systems customizable too?
Well, that's close. But it would be more like messages are sent between rooms, and maybe a main mail room or telegraph room, and servicemen were would follow their orders, rather than ammunition moving through tubes. Although that sounds pretty cool no that I think about it.

Commander
Himmel gotten. This sounds amazing. Almost as amazing as Option 3 of uniform design.
