Hello all. Does anyone have thoughts on ways to enrich the strategy component of battles? I think that adding additional functions to the spy mechanic would make for some creative tactics. For example, you could have the spy right up a report on the logistics of a towns fleet (#ships, munitions in pounds, guns, men) and have the spy board one ship and attempt to sabotage it. You could make the enemy underprepared by creating single refusing ships, that serve to provide comodities, and freeing up space for several underhanded warships. Alternatively, you could lure a large battalion to their deaths by creating a large, combustible ship, filled with munitions, and prickling with rifles as the weapons decoy. Then you could decimate there fleet by ramming the Capitol ship and igniting its payload. It would be interesting to hear others ideas on the strategy component.
Oh, sorry. I've been playing the combat mode more than campaign, because I'm pretty lazy. This is a great game by the way. I wish you luck for future development.

So you can sabotage ships through the "view city" screen. More detailed spy mechanics might be quite fun though.
