"For an upcoming expansion" is a common phrase used around here, i hope this topic can be dedicated to keep track of them so good ideas don't get lost.
The criteria for this topic is that the community agrees on the suggestion in question (with little left to be debated) and Zarkonnen hasn't shot down the idea as way too unbalanced, impossible, etc.
Yes, i do realize he did not mention it as being an expansion, but he did seem to think it was a reasonable idea. Though he did note that is would make make the learning curve a little steeper.
Gears and other fabulous mechanisms.
And here is one of of Zarkonnen's responses.
"Yeah, having an additional layer for wires and connections is something I've thought about as well. Especially in the context of diesel engines, this would be the way fuel gets routed from tanks to engines.
My objection, as madking321 has pretty much guessed already, is that it makes ship design a lot more complex. Having spent lots of time observing people trying to figure out the game, plenty of them struggle with basic layouts already.
Which, I know, to me and you also seems silly: just put the modules together so they join up! Put modules on until there's no more warnings! One of each from the basics category and you have a working ship! But we're very used to the game by now, so these things look trivial to us even when they're not."
The other comment was "Stooop teeempting meeee"
On a side note, might i recommend that there be nothing stopping you from posting a suggestion here(Except the forum rules obviously)? It is a suggestion chain after all.
@pgray57, sounds like a cool idea (we could always use more fancy hats!)!
You can go to the suggestions side of the forum and post your idea there by itself, this is just a sticky post to confirm/remember/get easy access to stuff that is already generally agreed upon to be possible/good for upcoming maybe features possibly!
Honestly I think it depends on the route Zark decided to go with A:CTS.
If my tingling marketing senses didn't know any better there may never be an expansion; and if there is it will be standalone & A:CTS might become free.
But that's like... Yoda peering into the future stuff. Powerful the darkside is, impossible the future to see.
Wanna know what would be awesome? Tower legs. Extremely tall four-legged system capable of carrying a large load, but is slow. It would be pretty hard to get stuck with this set of legs. They would also have lots of health, for walking forts! (Imagine a tower from the Kremlin walking...)
i know from some places on the forums that the game has already had a campaign overhaul, but seeing as ive managed to beat the game on every difficulty and size, i feel that it may need to be... bigger.
i propose a "world war" mode, where once you have completed the base campaign (which doesn't feel like a whole planet at war, it feels more like a divided nation) you enter world war mode, which brings a whole new map, in the shape of an oval, with, in a certain place, your nation in the world, along with multiple other nations.
in world war mode you will try to take over the whole world by going from nation to nation (and city to city within the different nations) with your designed FLEETS (you will design fleets made up of your existing air/landcraft, depending on your nation revenue, as if all cities in the nation were at optimal revenue output and all things such as mad scientists, dragons, brigands, etc were defeated) and will send those fleets to said nations to fight in their cities (which may still be at war with each other)
i also have had the idea that larger, much more costly bombers could fly alongside the bi and tri planes, but it must be unlocked by taking over your NATION.
furthermore, i propose that, similar to the unlockable modules, each nation will have different types of sub-craft (such as bi-planes, tri-planes, air hussars, and bombers) probably not procedural generated, but different to each other for more replay-ability (maybe a limit of 10 nations, and 10 different variants of all the subcraft) which will, when eventually their specific nations are taken over by your empire, be available as astetic choices for specific air/landships
ok thats about it, and i really hope you guys support this idea, so please let me know what you think :D
(also, i posted some related ideas on one of Respawns posts from earlier today)

I have an idea! how about some flag/raiding a pirate base gives the player the ability to buy a privateer on a hostile nations monster nest point which basically acts the same as a normal pirate but raids the players opponents
Veterancy and crew experience: Currently planned for expansion 2 along with NPC ship commanders.
Map size: The big limit here currently is that map generation eats a huge amount of memory - so bigger maps are likely to crash the game. The related issue here is that if you set the game's max memory much higher than it already is, Java breaks on Windows. :(

Just put the eligible suggestions in bullet form.
Aerial Emperor
Yep, people can sticky stuff, and if I don't like the fact it's sticky, I'll just unsticky it. :D
Air Admiral
How about the advanced building mode that i suggested as an expansion?

Add boosting engines! Boilers and electric engines that boost speed, lessen weight, and make the guns more accurate! :D
Commodore
those exist, except for the reduce weight one
Commodore
Not actual engines, just boosting boilers and engines. They don't propel the ship or anything, they simply act as a buff.
Commodore
ah, that makes more sense... and like the Targeting Comp and Telescope, they cannot be stacked, correct?
Commodore
Probably, unless it's a tiny generator, then those can be stacked...

Expansions are actually expensive tho...

any thoughts?
Able Airman
I would love it if ships in conquest mode gained veterancy during their fights that allows them to fire more accurate/reload faster etc.
It would be great to have your cruiser's battle hardened crew improve and after some time fight more efficiently than their rookie comrades.
Able Airman
@stuChris, made a mod that adds more maps so you can battle a bit more...

not exactly what i meant though
