You can get a Steam code from itch.io where you bought the game originally. You have to log in using the email address you bought it with.
The only restriction I'm going to enforce in terms of ship design is that it shouldn't be something offensive. No nazi flags or pixel art porn. But pixel art Mario? Not my problem. I'm not interested in policing minute technical copyright violations for things that ought to be in the public domain by now anyway.
You didn't necessarily create an account. But if you create an account now with the same email address, the game will be associated with that account. You definitely did get it from itch.io, because your forum key is an itch.io one. :)

Now that the Steam Workshop is live, I have a couple questions.
Since I purchased the game before it was on Steam, will I have to purchase it on Steam to access the workshop?
And are there any restrictions regarding "Pixel Art" airships (like a ship resembling Mario or a Black Mage)?

Hmm, was there a purchase method before itch.io? I don't recall creating an account there when I purchased the game.
