I understand this is a bit of topic... but is their any reason zarkonnen has failed to update his YouTube channel with more development videos? I've really enjoyed seeing them and it seems like recently, the YouTube channel simply isn't in use anymore...
For some it's a lifetime of work, for others they go viral in a day.
Video may not be Zarks strong point; and recording (correctly) + editing + encoding + uploading + promotion... well, that's all time. Adds up; before you know it, several days are gone when you hoped it would be done when you stopped the recorder.
THEN when it's done you watch it a half dozen times and SEE A MISTAKE! cough Audio cough. Move the pin back, start over. etc. so on.
One could argue half of the workflow I put up isn't necessary, considering Zarkonnen goes straight from Capture to YouTube. (most of the time)
The traffic on development streams is low, even with heads from the Twitter.
I'd argue that the Streams not only slow down development, but take from personal time and have no longevity promotion to the game at-all other than employment. For employment, you'd only need 1 to 3 proper videos, not an entire devstream. The devstream might accumulate views over time, but the 35 Invader Zim clips I'm about to "sample upload" to check if YouTube would Flag my Music; well, they'll get more views.
Time is a driving factor for all decision making, I believe.
In this special case; Dev Streams, at such a low number of viewers (Zark doesn't even like referring to the users in his livestreams), actually hurts promo. Oddly.
Then... now here's the part that will blow StuChris's mind... I could change my TAGS/META to point towards Airships: Conquer The Skies at any point I wish. Then anyone who likes "Invader Zim" will get a recommended I choose. What I'm trying to say is Invader Zim could promote Airships more than Zarkonnen's devstream.
Another reason to be in no hurry. Marketing interlinks everywhere.
But hey; I get it. Everyone wants to be closer to Zarkonnen. Reaction to Zarkonnen's participation on his own forum has DRASTICALLY CHANGED in the last 365 days.
It's gone from Man to God-Like, although it should be this way on your own platform. :P
Try shooting him a casual message on Steam sometime, trigger a conversation. I pass hidden ideas to him that way often, long before the community musters it into a forum post.

I just haven't been doing them recently. Mostly because it's been really hot, and the video encoding makes the computer really heat up. :P
There will be more in the future.
Air Admiral
Alright then :)
Air Admiral
so tell me why you have disappeared once more... Computer overheating again?

Videos aren't easy.

Gets pretty hot.
Air Admiral
Fair enough then...
Commodore
and plus, he has to work on the game itself as well
Air Admiral
He streams development in his youtube videos...
