Okay so I am already having a blast with this game trying out differnet combinations of ships etc against other players. As this game is still in devleopment I would like to drop a few ideas to help make MP more enjoyable.
*I think it would help the multiplayer community and help players who aren't so quick on the draw when it comes to micromanaging if the slower speed setting was an option for hosts, (1/4th speed).
*Larger and wider/taller maps so air and land have more tactical maneuvering room.
*a way for friendly ground units to not clip with other friendly units, for example if the front tank/mech at the front of the line is blown to shit, then anything behind it should be able to pass it freely without having to roll over it.or (ram it)
*Anti-Infantry implacements that only target infantry related units (mg nests etc)
*Airborn troopers =- )
And the biggest thing wish I am sure the awesome developer will fix in due time is that very large ships can only focus fire on one ship at a time. So a battleship that should win against 8 small tiny ships gets blown to shit, cause it can only focus fire. Mayhap make an option for ships to "Free Fire" to allow individual guns to target individual ships.
Otherwise I am REALLY enjoying this game, and havn't even modded it yet. Look forward to further developments man! Best 10 bux ever spent!
Having combat speed options is a great idea, thanks.
I can look into increasing map width, but the larger the map, the worse game performance. I can and probably should increase the height of the initial placement area.
Changing how units intersect with each other would be a massive change likely to be confusing and likely to result in many weird bugs. Plus, the fact that landships are hampered by being in each other's way is their specific downside - they're cheaper than airships to compensate.
Anti-infantry weapons and airborne units are something I plan to - argh, eventually - get to in a 9.x update.
If you don't give ships a target command, they are in free fire mode. Each gun makes up its own mind as to what to shoot at. :)
