So, ship mechanics. What's gonna stop people from making massive ocean-conquerors? Or making floating towers? Well, I'm thinking that Ships should be balanced by length, height, distribution of weight, and power plant. So, let's start with weight.
It will matter on how long and tall your ship is. If you make your ship too long, it will capsize. If it's too tall, it will capsize or sink, if it's too top-heavy. You can't have a massive gun on one end and nothing on the other, you need to balance it out, or the ship will tilt either forwards or backwards. If you make it too bottom heavy, then it will sink like a rock. But, if it's almost too heavy on the front, and this is penetrated, it will soon fill up with water, and become more heavy. You can stop this from spreading via bulkheads, alternate corridors that ALWAYS stop water, even if damaged, unless it is completely destroyed. Then comes propulsion.
Ships will be given a new kind of propulsion: Boilers and propellers in different sections. For example, you will have rows of large boilers, and several propeller shafts. This will also come with rudders, allowing for the ship to turn around, and the timing of this depends on how big the rudder is. You will have many different propellers or turbines to choose from, and many boilers to choose from.
If it ain't from Zark or a moderator than it isn't confirmed. He announces big updates on steam. This forum is called Suggestions and Support for a reason :P
Technicaly speaking, he's confirmed it as the next expansion but we just need to wait and see if an expansion is even feasible by the end of airships ' s development... Also I've honestly grown tired of someone demanding sea combat every other week. Nothing against you polslava, but when there's a dozen people who all seem to think they've come up with a GENIUS idea and there all desperate to show it, things can get... Tiring.
There's a lot of homages that find their way into narratives that "suggest but do not confirm". It's delightful and mysterious, but we shouldn't get ahead of ourselves.
This is something you would hear on a DVD Commentary. An homage is a tribute; a narrative is a story. So several tributary stories, that might suggest water (like docks), but nothing exists that confirms water for the title.
I'd argue the future for the title is so open ended that the term "expansion" might not even be applicable anymore; but I don't know that. Some sources are confirmed not* quotable anymore.
So, presumption of thought, etc.
It's a half-hazard way of protecting ones self, or making a joke. You often hear about "Logic Police" and "Homages that aren't Homages because of the IP". It's a confusing paragraph.
