These ships will be ships like other BUT they have a module to store cargo (maybe there are different sizes for it) you will have to assign it to a city of your ow OR of an other empire where u dont have war with the ship will fly from your city to the other city and back all the time and you have to pay to put cargo inside your ship and when it gets back to your city it will give you a little bit more money back. offcourse these ships can get attacked by pirates or other factions and when it is destroyed the enemy will get all the money worth of cargo it was containing. to protect against this you can arm your cargo ships or you can let them get escorted by warships.
this might also be the start of diplomacy with starting trade agreements with other factions and declaring wars.
I really hope this gets added cause it looks really nice and it would be a lot of fun defending your own cargo ships and trying to attack the ones of the enemy
(you could even make this the primary money income but still keep city income ofcourse in case your cargo ships get destroyed its not hat i really want this last thing but its an idea :D )
Hmm, I think diplomacy is a wonderful idea, but such a thing would take a lot of time to add.
It'd be probably better to add it as an expansion pack, maybe 5$
like, we would have aliances, with appreciaction levels between them.
like if you attack A but he's got an aliance with B, A status will go to -10 and B to -5
at -5 they do not accept trade, at -10 and worse they attack you
above -5 would allow trade, above 5 and 10 would allow better trading, more efficient, etc... even the exchange of stuff, like telescopes and such.
trading ships would be set to a road between 2 cities, and can be intercepted. They are like food for pirates.
We'd have the choise to make an optimised trader, fast and full of cargo, but it would surely lack protection.
if we make an armored trade ship it'd surely go slower and we would receive less cash/sec from it.
Seems to be a wonderful idea, but it is not easy to implement it.
