A thread discussing all that should be implemented alongside the newest update to airships. So I go first then?
VANILLA FEATURES
*The ability to save ships in folders. (Either by a template or class)
MODDING FEATURES
*Being able to mod in custom commands.
*Being able to spawn units from aircraft (For paratroopers!)
*Being able to put multiple weapon points on aircraft (For Bombers with gunners)
*Do aircraft have animations? It seems not... Well the ability for aircraft to have animations and such could definitely help make the game look really cool...
actually, since aircraft are rendered as "troops" you can assign them animations, it just takes a lot of time and effort for each plane (and as they are "troops" that also explains why they currently cant have more than one weapon (and why they cant spawn other troops), which doesnt allow for gunners, but i would LOVE gunners.)
Is the game ever going to be moddable to the point in which a user could program a completely new part to the overall experience? Could make the game last forever...
I also wish for a bunch of annoying bugs to be fixed such as the reserve texture bug, for one. Also, a search feature for the ship list (If it doesn't have one already) and for the saved games too. Perhaps even that quick try-out mode for airships. (which would spawn your ship design inside the city in which it's being built, complete with a practice target and some background to go with it.)
Hm yeah, the quick play thing is tempting, but definitely goes in the "yet another cool random feature" category.
Hovercraft: I go back and forth on that. Problem is, I'm not sure what the tradeoffs would be that would make the choice between wheels, legs, and hovering interesting.
Well seeing as tracks are slower but sturdier than legs, perhaps hovercraft could be even more fragile than legs but quicker too. (I'd also say to let them travel outside of roads but that might be a little much.)

Well really there's two ways already:
Virtually overwriting the content when the game launches.
or
Backup / Decompile / Recompile.
Although I have requested elements of the old modding methods be re-implemented here.
It comes down to a safety issue. You wont find code-altering modifications on Steam. You will only see these on ModDB / Nexus / etc.

Something else that remains on my wishlist are suspendium hovercraft, but I doubt Zark will let combat will take another big hit to the meta again.

There's a few words in particular concerning WATER that suggests something like HOVERCRAFT would come with that.
If I read everything right - LAND and WATER will NOT MIX, so HOVERCRAFT could be WATERCRAFT. A hunch.
Probably already has a prototype, know I do.

i personally think we need more Treads or wheels, considering we only have two types of them compared to several types of everything else
