Before going nuts on this Guide/Thread, please understand that it's a work in progress (WIP), and will see continued work. While the first version may work pretty well, new Tools and Custom Resources will be added over time to help users achieve the desired experience. Might even record a video, take pictures, adopt proper grammar, be cool for once; who knows?
`
Currently Planned Features:
Screenshots
A Brief 1-3 Minute Setup Video (without riff-raff, just beatz)
Browser-Based Overlay Instructions (TESTING IN PROGRESS)
Candidates for simplified Top-Most Window management.
A list of commonly used IRC commands for ease-of-use.
A cleaner Guide.
(maybe) Migration to a Popularized IRC Host. My chosen isn't compatible with corporates like OverWolf - not without additional effort, anyway. If it happens, it will reflect in a very-near-future update.
A webpage that merges both IRC and Disqus into a single webpage environment - allowing maximum ease-of-use.
`
Who this Guide is for:
Users who wish to access a centralized location, in or out of game.
Users who suffer frequent crashes. 10k+ Users, for instance.
Users who wish to dodge potential Bugs of the built-in Chat-Overlay.
Users who wish continued communication while outside the lobby, in-game.
Users who wish to invest near-0 effort and info into making it work.
Twitch Users who wish to integrate custom channel overlays into streams.
`
What this Guide DOESN'T provide (and never will):
VOIP
Screensharing (Video Chat)
`
Introduction:
Internet Relay Chat (IRC) is an application layer protocol that facilitates communication in the form of text. The chat process works on a client/server networking model. IRC clients are computer programs that a user can install on their system. - Google's Snippet of Wikipedia
Step 2.) Download the "Installer" & Install AutoHotkey.
Step 2a.) AutoHotkey will open a "Help Menu". You will find this application has no "Client", this is because it is now a member of your operating systems "Right Click" references.
Step 3.) Rick Click your Desktop, in the dropdown: New / AutoHotkey Script
Step 4.) Right Click the created AutoHotkey Script: Edit Script
Step 4a.) Paste the following script into the Notepad, Save, and Close:
^SPACE:: Winset, Alwaysontop, , A
Step 5.) Right Click the Script: Run Script
Step 5a.) Compiling the Script will turn it into an .exe.
Note 1: You can now make any selected windows/software Always on Top by pushing: "CTRL" + "SPACE"
Note 2: Right Click AutoHotkey, located in the System Tray, to "Pause Script". While there are other ways of accomplishing abandoning the script, this is an effort in simplification.
Note 3: Running the game in "Borderless Windowed" will favor the best possible results, otherwise clicking on the browser window will minimize A:CTS.
