A new idea for strong, bulky, slow and short legs. These could be useful for building new heavy walkers. They do lack speed, obviously, but are nearly twice as strong as their normal legged counterparts. Here are the proposed statistics for the set of legs. Do note all of them are bipedal.
Small Stout Legs
Health:500
Weight:150
Weight limit:2,500
Cost:100$
Unloaded Speed:60
Requires 1 coal per 10 seconds.
Needs 3 crew to function, recommended 4.
1x3 Slots in dimensions.
Medium Stout Legs
Health:700
Weight:250
Weight limit:6,500
Cost:1,500$
Unloaded Speed:55
Requires 1 coal every 10 seconds.
Needs 5 crew to function, recommended 7.
2x4 Slots in dimensions.
Large Stout Legs
Health:2,500
Weight:750$
Weight Limit:12,500
Cost:3,500$
Unloaded Speed:55
Requires 2 coal every 10 seconds.
Needs 10 crew to function, recommended 12.
2x6 slots in dimensions.
These all can carry quite a large sum of weight, allow for big guns and lots of them, but are quite costly. They should have a quick foot movement speed, but only move forward slowly. The main look of these should speak for statistics, them being humanoid-pattern in movement but with very heavy plating covering most parts of each leg. Make suggestions for stats or looks.
i like the idea, and why not maybe add to it? how about longer, more Cheetah-like legs for high-speed tranportation? ooohhh, gives me a somewhat related idea for a mod...
Before any new legs are added, the way they work in game needs to be fixed. As of right now the leg gaits are very wonky resulting in your walker becoming stuck (as well as looking weird on walkers with more than 2 legs). Another bug with legs is that they don't even consume coal. Unless its intended to be super efficient.
If that gets fixed then sure, more legs would be nice. Especially tripod legs or even re-enforced legs.
Landships sure do need more love. I wouldn't mind going full HG Wells with tripods and Pedrail wheels, but Bipedal legs that could be used for more then just ultralight designs would be great.

Tripods would be cool... Possible idea sighted? :)
