I have a real soft spot for TOS. I was actually just re-watching The Man Trap with lunch the other day. My feeling about TOS is that the sets are so simple that it feels more like a televised play these days, which actually means it's aged better than other SF shows.
I absolutely love seasons 3-7 of TNG, the golden era, if you will, of Star Trek. I just love drinking Earl Grey whilst rewatching the episodes. Voyager and DS9 are fantastic as well, I think they're both great series.
For some reason I can't get into TOS, it's too...colorful. It's too campie for me, I guess I'm not used to it (I did enjoy "The Doomsday Machine")
If I had to make a top 3 list of my favorite captains it would be:
Yeah, TOS is very hit-and-miss, and there's some really ridiculous episodes. But there's also some great stuff. "Balance of Terror" is probably the one most people like the best.

Whether it be causal or hardcore, anyone else here a Trekkie?
