I'd hide it in the Suspendium Tank. That way if the ship explodes the money go's flying everywhere; pirates waving their hooks in dismay as a trail of money swirls to the ground revealing an unforgiving explosion.
That's assuming Money is paper; it could be miniature copper anchors.
If this is Airships we're talking about, I can see entire floating banks being stolen by a bunch of pirates with a big airship. Who needs to steal the money when you can take the whole building and fly it back to base?
