I always considered making a Ground Vehicle game in the vibe of something like Neo scavenger... Interchange your parts with that of destroyed enemies (Or switch out your vehicle completely). Play as an Ex-Tank commander in a post-apocalyptic world were aliens invaded, then mysteriously disappear, leaving behind only strange technology and armed drones. (The strongest and rarest enemy in the game.) The game would have no health-bars and would try to simulate a vehicle realistically falling apart. I'm thinking of using a form of Isometric pixel art for the art style. Anything goes in this ruined lands from junkers using old non-combat vehicles (Like a firetruck) and ramming you with it to the Legion of the Cross, crusaders armed with motorized chariots and "Light-bringers" (Small railguns that produce brilliant golden light when fired).
Sounds cool. Closest games to this I can think of are Convoy and Death Road to Canada. But neither of them quite hit the spot of what you describe, I think.
