Can I ask how people seem to have blank spaces in their heraldry? It might seem like a weird question but on the heraldry page it looks like people have heraldry with blank spaces in them and I can't find a way of doing it

Taking a look at the heraldry page shows that the "missing charges" phenomenon only occurs in uppermost portion of the list.
Since those are the earliest registered heraldry, I would assume it was a valid option early in the game development process, but has since been patched out.
Ah yes, there was a mildly incompatible change in the data format of the coats of arms, which caused this. So I'm afraid it's not possible anymore to do blank spaces.
