This is a simple thread where you introduce yourself.
Just simple tells us about who you are and anything else you want us to know. :)
I am legoracer171 and I love RTS games. Very much into Sci-fi themes but will also play some military games like CoD. Hope to see you all around and so far my Win/Lose ratio is 11/5, so happy hunting!
I also live in California which accounts for me being on/off when others are off/on.
I am HardPenguin, a Linux gamer from Poland and I came here from GamingOnLinux.com :) Airships game got my immediate attention because of cool 2D-pixel look, steampunk theme, idea of commanding the crew, designing own ships, future potential and of course Linux support! Looks very promising!
I also play League of Legends, Toribash and many more, a PC gamer by choice since always :)
(I've moved this thread into a new "Meta" forum along with some other stuff, hope that's OK.)
I'm Zarkonnen, the developer of Airships. I live in Zurich, and apart from doing game dev, I work on web testing tools. I hope to have a cat sometime soon.
Games I've been playing recently: Don't Starve, NEO Scavenger, Alpha Centauri. I've actually never owned a games console or handheld. :P
My name is TheFloatingTree I love to read, write, draw, and tinker around with electronics and programming. I live in Tooele, Utah, a small almost non-existent town with too many Mexican and burger restaurants.
My favorite games would have to be Minecraft, Kerbal Space Program, and my new favorite Airships.
Hello, I am Alomoes from the USA. I've played Dwarf Fortress, and have recently gotten into openRA, a free red alert clone. I tend to drift from game to game, mostly playing free games. My favorite game would be an almost impossible question to answer, as I've played a lot of games. Airships is high up on the list, even in its early access. I really like this game.
I like to play the games from paradox interactive, including crusader kings two and europa universalis 4. I also like Mount and Blade.
HI!
I'm Charles from Canada! I'm French Canadian so English is my second language. I love to draw (mostly doodles, but sometimes I make something out of it :P). I play a very wide variety of games and I tend to hop from game to game fairly frequently, but I have a few I always cycle back to, such as Kerbal Space Program, Minecraft, OpenTTD, etc. And Airships feels like it'll be in that rotation.
I also love simulation games, especially the ones that are quite details. Another genre I adore is games that allow you to customize and upgrade your "toolset" as the game progresses.
Hey there! Tim from Rehoboth, Massachusetts. This place hasn't been relevant since King Phillip's War, but it's still pretty. Haven't actually had the opportunity to play any multiplayer with anyone yet, but I've been following this game ever since Zarkonnen commented on a /r/gamedev post a few months ago. I've done some of the single player and it's tons of fun. :)
I like to program, and I'd say 90% of that programming is aimed at my Minecraft server. I also like to play just about every other game mentioned in this thread (damn dirty Steam sales), plus Faster Than Light.
I love to help game communities and join group events, I love realistic shooters and survival games.
If you have any questions about the game you can ask me. Or just hang out and play airships multiplayer.
Hi, I'm Iwillbenicetou I mostly play strategy games and saw this game on YouTube and thought it was cool. I live in New York and hope to be a part of the community and play some multiplayer matches.
Hello, I'm Qazhax. or Dazqo. I don't even know... Finland.
I have been trying to design giant airships for years. recently I found this game which lets me do exactly that. Experimenting, engineering, exploring and odd strategies are what I mostly do in games.
Airships, Minecraft, Terraria, Risk of Rain, Faster than Light, Heroes of Might and Magic II, Chaos Engine, Don't Starve, Europa universalis IV, Civilization V, Might and Magic Heroes VI, World of Tanks, a huge pile of random RPGs, War of Human Tanks and a huge pile of random VNs are some of the games I play...
Oddly enough, the most frequent game I play is World of Tanks... I can't seem to get bored of it no matter what I try...
I get bored pretty easily, I have about 6 ongoing projects at all times, plus the games... programming, pixel art, sculpting, worldbuilding, drawing, ideaing, experimenting, starting projects, physics, math, I don't know.. I just have to do everything.
Hello, I am Mechfried from Germany and I love RTS game ( especially Siedler and Cultueres) and like si-fi , Cyberpunk , Steampunk , ... , well literally everything with technical and mechanical stuff and METAL.
Games I play the last time are well Airships :D , Robocraft , Space Engineers , a little bit of XCom: Enemy within and one really short run in FTL (because of to many laser from the enemy).
Cloudcaptain here, straight outta the Southeastern US. I am a life long video gamer, table top fan, board game hoarder, and miniature wargamer. I have a huge soft spot for indie games. I crave game with depth and I have been really impressed by Airships so far. Looking forward to what is to come.
I'm Technocrat from Germany and I'm a huge RTS/Roguelike/Sandbox-Indie Fan :D the first thing I thought when I saw Airships on Moddb was... "jeeez looks like a Steampunk-FTL". But after a while I lost track of the Game but found it recently again while searching for FTL-like Games. And I must say I'm really, really impressed by it. "Sadly" my taste of Video-Games changed over the years. From an Hyper-AAA Game lover I've become something like a wine Gourmet and only the little, rare sorts of Games these days can satisfy me. So thanks to Zarkonnen and every little Indie-Developer with cool & fresh ideas ... Without you I would be bored to death :D
Hey Technocrat! Your English skills look fine to me. :) Glad you like the game, tho I have to admit "Steampunk FTL" isn't a million miles from the truth. "Aerial Pixel Piracy" or "Gratuitous Air Battles" also works. Not the whole story, though.
Hello, hallo, hola, and the numerous other ways I've missed. I'm Timeisaperception, hailing from the Southeastern United States. My tastes range from casual to hardcore, and span pretty much any mainstream genre; I'm also an avid pen and paper RPer. Hopefully I'll stumble across some multiplayer matches sooner rather than later, so I can spread the explosion and crash riddled joy that is piloting an airship.
PS: As a native English speaker with a very firm grasp on the language, all of you are doing just fine. :D
I live in Washington state, america. Im half insane and my ships are too large. i dont have my own computer and the computers i use are too weak. (I typed this on my phone)
Hi all I'm badwolf66
I'm new to this game but I think it has great potential the idea of airships I think is awesome so many possibilities I like that it has a 19th century feel to it.
I'm from the UK, I've been playing games since I was 4 or 5 on the old MS DOS machine (I also play on consoles too)
I also enjoy animating and drawing (when I have the time for it)
Things that interest me are Tanks, Doctor Who, Dogs, Photography, Drawing, Animating, Gaming a little bit of tv like paranormal/ghost/ufos/alien documentaries and some history programs too but tv these days is rubbish.
Hi. My name is Epik3YearOld, though it is a misleading name, as I am neither epik nor three years old. I and watch people play video games, such as OfficialStuff+ which is how I discovered this game. I also play games, which is why I play this game. I enjoy playing games. I live in England. England is a nice country. However, I dislike tea, which is not what most people expect when they hear that I am British. I enjoy programming, though I'm only learning at the moment, and I doubt that I could make a game such as this one as I cannot do art. I have ran out of things to say, so, anyway, it is nice to meet all you people who are on the internet, and I may be on the forums.
I found this game through a comment on an LP of WindForge, and since this game was 5$, and I adore games that let me create ships, I decided to buy it.
Tried finding the LP w/ that comment, but even as I have located the most likely LP and even though it has only 3 episodes I have no luck finding that comment anywhere.
Feels like I've somehow have removed... Nevermind, seems like my history has been scrambled, things are not in the places they should be.
/watch?v=y-S7CqPrH2o that's the video, there is a comment marked as spam (most likely because it has this link in it: http://www.moddb.com/games/airships)
So yeah, I'm enjoying the game btw, still trying to get the hang on airship designing. Hopefully you'll expand the campaign part of the game, because I'm very much a single-playing campaigner sort of guy.
I am Freefall, I am a man who is a budding strategist at heart but has a head full of crazy ideas. I have recently started playing Airships thanks to a video on YouTube from OS+ and I am impressed by its balance of depth and simplicity. Very well done on the creation of what is and will be an amazing game :D
Hello everyone! I am Britishball, or Brian. I am British, as the name suggests, but I live in the Southeast US. I love strategy games and have always had a soft spot for steampunk, so the second I saw Airships on stuff+'s channel, I knew I had to buy it.
My name is unimportant, my screenname is Dead_Videos, as one might be able to guess from my name i make videos, although i'm currently on an extended hiatus from Youtube i look forward to returning some time soon. As johnny cash has been everywhere man, i've played every game man, i started on PS1 and N64, didn't play much PC games until my dad introduced me to diablo ( as in diablo 1) then when Diablo 2 came out i ended up becoming more engrossed in that game than any other that i had up to that point this is when i became primarily a PC gamer, but i still held onto the love i had of my old playstation games, and much to my glee my parents surprised me and my sisters with a PS2 when it was released, for a long time the PS2 was the pinnacle of my console gaming life, even as my PC continued to advance, eventually i got an Xbox 360 several years after it's initial release, and then a WII ( had to have smash bros brawl) and then a PS3 when my family and i nearly killed the WII from watching so much netflix that the WII overheated and shut itself down repeatedly. Throughout this whole time my PC rig has been developing, going through several whole resets ( DDR to DDR2 to DDR3) and many part changes.
Anyway, as for why i bought Airships well honestly i was going to buy it a long time ago but back then the only purchase option was through paypal, having had a credit/debit card stolen through paypal i refuse to use that service, so when i saw that it landed on steam? i was here in heartbeat.
Hi everybody, my (real life) name is Alex, I'm 32 years old and I live in Switzerland near the city of Basel. I'm a student of literature and I work as a farmhand. I'm with Airships since version 4.1 and it gets better with every update. Other games I'm playing right now: Serpent Isle, Sternenkind Saga (a german RPG-Maker game) and Medal of Honor: Breakthrough. My favourite genres are the good old RPGs (M&M 3-5, Baldur's Gate, PS:T, Gothic and some others). I lost interest in most of the so called AAA-games many years ago, as only independent developers seem to be able to provide creative and original game ideas today. That's why I'm here.
I am Brutus the Baboon (Joseph IRL), 19 years old! I live in Texas, USA. As a kid I was extremely inspired by thoughts of airships and drawings of cross-sections I did in Elementary school and Middle School. This game is a wonderful fulfillment for me, as I never had the technical know-how to bring my imaginings to life. I can't wait to see this game take greater flight than it already has. I know it will grow, and I will be advertising it in the forums of every other game I play. this DESERVES to be FAMOUS!!! Haha.
Other games I play: Guns of Icarus Online. Payday 2. Faster Than Light. Arma 3. Stranded Deep. Day Z. Take on Mars. So many more...
I love supporting and exploring the indie game community and I just know this one is a gem!
I'm BorderReiver, originally from the Scottish Borders but I now live in Edinburgh. I'm a huge enthusiast when it comes to aviation history (the First World War is my major field of study) along with anything science fiction, military history or Motorsport related. I also partake in historical fencing with my focus at the moment being 19th century military sabre.
All this makes me sound vastly more interesting than I am.
This game has given me one of the most fun and creative evenings of my gaming life and I look forward to pitting my creations against fellow airship designers.
Rage3069 from France... 35 years old and almost as much with a pad or a keyboard between the hands !
For five years, I started to enjoy more indie games rather than big commercial products, mainly because I find new ideas inside, or good old ones never reused for long time !
I found this game by accident when I was looking for different 2D views to help me with one of the many game projects I have (never find the time to finish one though!). I bought it immediately after seeing a let's play on the web. I like the atmosphere of the game, the work that has been done to obtain this and I hope to see this game in the top sales one day (but not for one day only! ;) )
I probably should have noticed this topic sooner..
Its also great to note that there are actually a lot of people who use this forum...
-edit- I should probably actually introduce myself..
Hi! I'm a I'm an experienced Canadian gamer who is usually pretty friendly (Canadian stereotype I guess). I have a limited (but growing) background with DarkBASIC coding and soon other languages and i'm usually thinking about game mechanics and how they could be added upon, so you'll see me on the suggestions side of the forum alot!
My ship designs are as orthodox as my suggestions -So, not at all- and have not been challenged in a battle thus far so feel free to send me a message if you feel interested in facing me! I'd like the feedback on my designs and maybe i could improve yours (because that feature is not implemented yet for AI)!
Oh yeah heads up, the 'U' key on my keyboard does not work sometimes so if i say 'Yo' or something try and see if adding a 'U' will make more sense somewhere!
Hello! I'm TheClockworks, and I'm a huge enthusiast for all things steampunk, as well as video games where players get to design buildings and vehicles, so I'm super excited about Airships: Conquer the Skies!
Besides steampunk, I'm also interested in settings that heavily feature mad science and two fisted tales (or parodies thereof), as well as robots and cyborgs, particularly of the heroic variety. Currently, almost all of these overlap in Atomic Robo, which is an amazing comic, and one of my favorites. Game wise, my interests are all over the place, including Fallout, Besiege, Civilization, Red Alert, and, of course, Airships!
I was born 2.11.93. I'm Russian and Scorpio and don't expect you to like me. If you are not Russian or Ukrainian, I will only accept English language. Russian is not preferable.
I'm student at "Moscow Aviation Institute". It's University.
I have only slow PCs mostly without Shader Model 3.0. But they all serve my purposes well (and I don't have money for anything new).
I like fun. Most things I do, I do for fun (that's what I do here). When I don't, I try to have fun doing them.
My priorities are family, honor, freedom (but it does not mean I never slept with a random woman).
I barely have a sense of humor and never get hints.
My twitter/twister/ask.fm: @MusickillerRus (mostly Russian).
I have an account on Skype, Facebook, vk.com, and some other services, but I don't like to share them.
Oh crap, I hope I'm not late for this! My name's Luke, although I normally go by Bjornson or BjornsonIII on most games. I'm an RTS/strategy junky and I am a huge fan of building and designing vehicles of war. I also like to dream big, which means that most of my own ideas for Airships may be impossible/hard to implement. Most of my ships are just as grand and expensive, so don't be surprised when 90% of my ships cost well over $1000!
Hello, fellow gamers! I am Hazeron, an American gamer who happened upon this game on youtube. I like videogames, reading, and making fun of shitty movies.
My name is Dunawolf from the Netherlands,
and in this game i represent the Dunation.
i got this game the 11th of June after being extreemly hyped about this thanks to Lathrix' videos about this game (search Lathland). because I absolutly adore games in wich i can design and build my own buildings and/or vehicles!
buildinggames i've been playing are: minecraft, terraria, KerbalSpaceProgram, SpaceEngineers, Robocraft, FromTheDepths, Besiege.
other games i do enjoy: Don't Starve (together), GunsOfIcarusOnline (airships yay), PlanetaryAnnihilation, SupremeComanderForgedAliance, Sanctum 1&2, Portal 2, and Warthunder.
In this game found myself designing most ships between 500-2000 cost, with a few 5K+ flagships. Contact me if you ever feel like battling, i have alot of time during the weekends :)
My name is vinnie5553, or Zepotez on steam, I am a American, located in Chicago. I am many things, a gamer first, soon to be developer or designer second, and musician third. I have to say this, this is my first forum, and probably Airships will be a new favorite of mine. Curious about why I might be a designer or developer? I love video games, and have been modding since the 7th grade (thats 5 years, im 17 now). As for music, I play the bass, and have been playing bass for a year now, i'm actually in a death metal/ black metal band with my friends. Thanks for reading!
Hi, my name is Dave or BlazeitcusDavicus. I'm Wales, and I'm a huuuge nerd I love alternative history, especially the steampunk genre, RTS games and creating things in general. I found this game via Lathrinx on YouTube and got incredibly hyped when I saw the theme. Hope to see y'all around.
Hi, I'm djbigboybugle (long story how I got that name :D) I'm English and I love writing and listening to music, doing art things and playing games. I'll play any game really as long as it's good and this game sort of restarted my pc gaming phase. I used to do coding until I gave up and played games that more talented people made :D. Yeah that's me pretty much.
Hello! I'm JakeTheCadet (Or Greg Universe on Steam) I'm American, and I love Sci-Fi and Steampunk. I play loads of games but I'm a real fan of military RTS and Sci-Fi, along with a bit of sandbox-y games. I'm a very, very beginner at coding, and wouldn't really list it as a skill, but it is something I can kinda sorta do.
HERRO! I am Captain Lance Aval Mercer, or Lanceprater12 on Skype! I am an American Gamer who is sucked into Steampunk. On the whole, I'll boast, get my ass kicked, and scream hacks. Eh, kidding, but still. I AM STIL SALTY CAESAR BEAT THE TURTLE.
I'm twinCatalysts and I fucked up the username when I registered. I'm from Ontario Canada and I love RTS games although I do have a wide variety of games I enjoy, including RPGs and Sandboxes, such as this game. I'm big into a webcomic called homestuck (if you know of it you probably figured out why my name is formatted as it is formatted) and I was reccomended this game by my friend. Je parle francais comme-ce comme-ca, mais mon langue premier est anglais. My favourite games include: Age of Empires, R.U.S.E, Lord of the rings: Shadow of Mordor, Terraria, Skyrim, and Tales of Maj'eyal (which if you haven't tried, I recommend, it's free on their website)
Outside of video games I play piano, practice H.E.M.A (Historical European Martial Arts) and I am fascinated with history, especially medieval europe, but recently I have also been interested in the topics of WW1 and WW2, as well as Sengoku Japan. I am also an avid learner of french, and I absolutely love brownies.
My favourite thing to do in this game is to build ships under 200 dollars, and I have successfully made ships under that pricetag that can board other ships, explode upon impact (yes I made suicide bombers, and no they are not named something muslim or asian related) and explode my enemies (with grenades as well as bombs). I am frequently called mean (or more specifically salty) by my friends and my insults range from "No you're stupid" to calling someone's piano playing "pee-ano" I am 21 years old.
That would be really great if you could do that!
It took me like 20 minutes to figure out why I couldn't link the game to the forum before I realized I added a y
I'm draemmli. Like Zarkonnen, I'm from Switzerland.
I use Debian Linux, and in my choice of games I've noticed that I pretty much only play games where you create stuff:
Dwarf Fortress, Minecraft, Kerbal Space Program. And now Airships!
In the Real World™, I am also a railfan (both the real stuff and model trains), do some photography stuff and I enjoy nature and technology.
Hello, I'm Katy t3h PeNgU1N oF d00m and I'm 13!!!
Nah, just kidding, my name is Kristen (I'm a dude, don't get any idea), I live in France,I'm 19 and I got my pseudo from an old D&D character I played in a campaign.
My interests involve gaming(obviously, although I include tabletop gaming), music (I try to be as open as I can), H.E.M.A (Not yet started, but still pretty interested by that, also I'm not sure it's called H.E.M.A in Europe), reading and writing (nothing professionnal) and more!
I'm actually beginning to code, and I'm trying to get into Game Design, so there's that. I also play theatre, and I usually like to the Dungeon Master in roleplaying games ^^
Oh and last thing: I pirated the game to see what it was like, sorry Zarkonnen, don't sue me into oblivion >_<
Well, have you bought it since? In which case I will call off the mech-spiders, just this once. Also, uh, you can just buy a game on Steam and refund it if you don't like it. Also, hi!
My username's Freemann on Steam, but on here I wanted something Airship related. I love Airships: Conquer the Skies and I am trying to contribute to the community as much as possible, occasionally submitting bad artwork and questionable airships.
Hey everybody! My name is Craig and I'm from Winchendon, Massachusetts. I just picked up the game and ran through thee Academy and I'm SOOOOO hooked on Airships! Awesome game and a very cool Steampunk vibe in-game and here. Looking forward to getting further into the game and learning a thing or two here on the forum.
Hey, I'm Respawn or Rebellious, whichever you would like to call me. I discovered this game on YouTube one day, and have been absolutely in love with it ever since.
I can't deny it's possibly one of my favorite games of all time. I'm also a small time freelance developer/Artist and modder. :D
Hi im DarkWyvren. I discovered this game when i went researching for normal/bump mapping for my java projects. Weird way to discover an awesome game. As i don't have any kind of digital payment (or enough money) id had to resort to using my friends account to enjoy this game (i will buy this as soon as i saved enough!). I am a random 15 year old artist and developer and i enjoy modding ALOT. XD
PS. i wonder if collab mods exist.
Hello there, gentlemen. Please, call me Valinde ! I like a great many things related to both steampunk & airships, and after playing the game with the voracity of a worm hollowing out an apple, (that is, uh, very thoroughly I suppose ?) I found out that there are few things as delightful as browsing other people's airships and concepts.
So I thought I'd pop here first before I got to spamming the living daylights outta the other threads.
My current hobbies consist of keeping a stiff upper lip under distress, long walks on the observation deck and making unpleasant remarks about how we didn't have all these new-fangled contraptions that take the soul right outta your ship faster than you can say "where's the coal ?", and we were all the better for it.
And those are some very lovely heraldrics up there. Mmh. Good fun all around, I'd say.
Greetings. My name is Psyringe; I come from the planet Lanulos. After arriving to Earth for an expensive education, I was recruited by the Freemasons to the Illuminati. After they discovered I was a dirty immigrant from space they threw me in a cave under Denver international airport. After years of planning; my cohorts and I escaped into a nearby train passage where we were able to flee to the Rocky Mountains. If you have any questions you can email me at illuminatisucks@illuminati.com - be careful what you write though they might still me monitoring me.
A little about me.
I am a gamer like most of the people here and I am apart of a group of likeminded gamers called the syndicate of the black sun. I grew up in the country of Murica where McDonalds and Burger King are grown on our farms and where dank memes are grown on the tree.
On a slightly less dank note I am here to promote multiplayer events and tournaments that will promote the game in a positive light so I hope ill see you guys/gals in a few of them!
Keep telling yourself that Zarkonnen. In all seriousness though, the forum is actually not as sparse as it seems and it's the best place to guarantee that the developer will spot anything you have to type unlike the other Airships related forums.
..Hopefully that joke reads well across text but just in-case I'd like to announce that that first sentence was meant to be humorous..
Speaking of tournaments, I hope you will have some of them put up on Youtube or other platforms. Any popularity coming from that will probably be good popularity for the game, and most importantly the forum where I exist.
I'm Redux. One of the leaders of Syndicate of the Black Sun, a multi-game clan. Inquisitive Human is another of our leaders. We started about 2.5 years ago in From The Depths (I'm sure many of you know of the game), but have branched out in to other games over the last year as we've picked up new members.
We've recently taken a fancy to Airships. While we'd like to do some tournaments or other events in the future, we will be starting weekly multiplayer battles (Most probably on Wednesday at 6pm EST, starting on the 4th of January). If anyone is interested in playing multiplayer with us, just join the multiplayer lobby on Wednesdays, and we should be online.
When we do some events and tournaments in the future we will be uploading videos for the ones we can, and they will all be posted here on the forums with ample notice for anyone who wishes to participate.
During our multiplayer battles, events, and so forth we will be coordinating heavily through our discord server, both in text and in voice chat. There is usually around ~45 people online at any given time, and virtually all of them either play Airships or play games similar to Airships. Thus, I would like to invite everyone to join our clan server on Discord at:
https://discord.gg/0pKxsQ9H0WAIebVn
I will make a post here before our first multiplayer battle day confirming the date and time (80% chance it will be January 4th).
I look forward to playing with all of you in the future.
Redux, Seeing how tournament coordination is a big topic I recommend you create a new thread here, and put [STICKY] in the title before any other text.
That will give you a sticky thread to use for all your tournament related things. Sticky meaning it will stay at the top of the forum page for new people to see, as a tournament page should be.
Just please don't abuse the [STICKY] header, I'm sure Zarkonnen can disable that functionality if he see's it coming up everywhere for no good reason.
Right, understood. Once we have some more details worked out and a format devised I will make a proper listings post. Sometime after Christmas as this is probably a low for activity, and I would imagine the majority of people are still inundated.
I appreciate the early support thus far. This is a great community.
I am a more causal player and my ships are more build around style than functionalaty, but they remain surprissing effective.
My english is mediocore, at best, and i struggle with introducting myself.
The Youtube-Channel? Yes, but only since recently...
Airships was known to me earlyer than his channel.
My username was also used by me, long before i heard his generic greetings the first time.
Und hey, der Entwickler spricht Deutsch. Das ist practisch.
Hihi! I am a super big fan of games where I can build my own ships, be it airships, spaceships, or warships. I'm into Sci-Fi, Sci-Fan, and Steampunk genres, though Fantasy is a big too. I like making bigass battles and rping with those battles, so my Share your ships thread will have a bit of worldbuilding in it.
Ahh.. I probably should've done this when I first joined but I didn't notice it was here. I'm from the US in a tiny little town surrounded by corn. Me and my friends are programmers and make little games, robots, drones and stuff for fun. I personally have always loved anything that flies. I grew up next to a major military airbase and always saw things fly over my house and would occasionally see Airforce One when it stops to refuel or whatever it does. I've been teaching myself programming, thermodynamics, astrophysics and all that to become an aerospace engineer since i was in middle school. Things like this game are my passion. Makes me sad that things like this weren't a part of human history.
Hello, CornofHolio here! I am an avid gamer and book enthisiast from Norway. I have have been plaing games for as long as I can remember and tend to drift between games. I usually end up binging a game for half a month to a month at a time. Airships was introduced to me when I was finished with a binge cycle and felt that life had no meaning (as it always does when finishing a cycle). As I was reloading my Steam queue, this popped up. It is a story of love at first sight.
I am stuChris, i am new to the community, although already rich with ideas and inspiration at just 18 hours in the game, and i cant wait to get to know everyone and help out with my own ideas and such as the game progresses :)
oh, and it was my birthday a couple days ago :D
Happy birthday and welcome! Do be sure to use the search if you have an idea to see if it's already been discussed. This forum has been around a while and chances are it may have been talked about in the past, especially if it contains boats or water.
But the bots came back the very next day,
The bots came back, we thought they were a goner
But the bots came back; they just couldn't stay away.
Away, away, yea, yea, yea
Anyways, why does this keep happening? It always seems to be on this thread specifically. I'm starting to suspect that it's bots looking for "Introduce Yourself" on forums since that's probably an easily detectable thing common to forums.
Hello. I am Sombrero and I make mods for this game such as my supply hatch mod and harpoon gun mod. I also take mod suggestions. Just write them down on a piece of paper, crumble it up and place it inside your nearest trash bin or throw it out any window and it should get to me.
I assume we're talking about spam again... If it's bots I think we could fix this by having the very first rank (ship's cat?) locked to say, 200 letters. (the size of this paragraph about right here.)
Each spam bot (if it is bots)appears to only strike once, so putting a short limit should break them and stop the spam, without re-captcha inconveniences. Or just use re-captcha or something to solve this once and for all.
Hi! I'm Dther99 and I've been lurking around here for about a year or so now, stealing ship ideas. I'm hoping to get some feedback regarding my ships and maybe learn some modding along the way.
Pip pip, tally ho! I'm Raenir, as you can see from the name beside my post. Long-time fan of the game- got introduced to it through OfficialStuffPlus, but I've watched WAY more of the game and based my purchasing decision on smaller youtubers content, since there just isn't that much content online about the game (DefendersofFaith comes to mind)!
I'm an engineering enthusiast and a not-very-good graphic designer (just good enough to appreciate beautiful things), so of course I fell in love with this game.

Able Airman
Hello! :)
Aerial Emperor
Hello!
Midshipman
Hello!
I am Chosenlama and i like games of any kind (nearly) i personally like actiongames with a twist and many indies.
My absolute favourite games are Dota 2, Spellforce 1, Cortex Command, and Path of Exile
Cabin Boy
Hello Everyone!

Cabin Boy
Warrant Officer
Lieutenant
Hey, I am Sgtdragonfire
I love to help game communities and join group events, I love realistic shooters and survival games. If you have any questions about the game you can ask me. Or just hang out and play airships multiplayer.
Captain, Engineering Corps
Hi, I'm Iwillbenicetou I mostly play strategy games and saw this game on YouTube and thought it was cool. I live in New York and hope to be a part of the community and play some multiplayer matches.
Cabin Boy
Aerial Emperor
Qazhax: Tell us about your projects! There's a forum topic for that. :)

Hello, I am Raulazo from Spain and i discovered the game in modbb when i seen in the most popular games and i fall on the love with the game :).
PD: sorry for my bad English
Aerial Emperor
Hey Raulazo! Thank you for introducing yourself, and don't worry about your English. It looks fine to me. :)
(I am not a native English speaker myself, secretly...)
Let me know if you want to do so multiplayer battles and we can schedule something.

Edit: someone like to have a multiplayer macht?
Warrant Officer
Cloudcaptain here, straight outta the Southeastern US. I am a life long video gamer, table top fan, board game hoarder, and miniature wargamer. I have a huge soft spot for indie games. I crave game with depth and I have been really impressed by Airships so far. Looking forward to what is to come.
Able Airman
Hey Guys!
I apologize for my poor English skills!
Aerial Emperor
Hey Technocrat! Your English skills look fine to me. :) Glad you like the game, tho I have to admit "Steampunk FTL" isn't a million miles from the truth. "Aerial Pixel Piracy" or "Gratuitous Air Battles" also works. Not the whole story, though.
Warrant Officer
Hello, hallo, hola, and the numerous other ways I've missed. I'm Timeisaperception, hailing from the Southeastern United States. My tastes range from casual to hardcore, and span pretty much any mainstream genre; I'm also an avid pen and paper RPer. Hopefully I'll stumble across some multiplayer matches sooner rather than later, so I can spread the explosion and crash riddled joy that is piloting an airship.
PS: As a native English speaker with a very firm grasp on the language, all of you are doing just fine. :D

Hi all I'm badwolf66 I'm new to this game but I think it has great potential the idea of airships I think is awesome so many possibilities I like that it has a 19th century feel to it. I'm from the UK, I've been playing games since I was 4 or 5 on the old MS DOS machine (I also play on consoles too) I also enjoy animating and drawing (when I have the time for it) Things that interest me are Tanks, Doctor Who, Dogs, Photography, Drawing, Animating, Gaming a little bit of tv like paranormal/ghost/ufos/alien documentaries and some history programs too but tv these days is rubbish.
Anyway it is be nice to meet you all :)
Able Airman
Cabin Boy
Hello, I am Hans.
I found this game through a comment on an LP of WindForge, and since this game was 5$, and I adore games that let me create ships, I decided to buy it.
Yeah... Pleased to meet y'all.
Captain, Engineering Corps
Pleased to meet you hans! :D
Aerial Emperor
Hi Hans! Can you link me to that LP? I've been thinking that Windforge players would probably enjoy Airships...
Cabin Boy
Aerial Emperor
Thanks for the link. :) More campaign stuff is definitely planned.
Cabin Boy
Greets,
I am Freefall, I am a man who is a budding strategist at heart but has a head full of crazy ideas. I have recently started playing Airships thanks to a video on YouTube from OS+ and I am impressed by its balance of depth and simplicity. Very well done on the creation of what is and will be an amazing game :D
Captain, Engineering Corps
Welcome to the forums Freefall! Glad you are enjoying the game! :D

Hello everyone! I am Britishball, or Brian. I am British, as the name suggests, but I live in the Southeast US. I love strategy games and have always had a soft spot for steampunk, so the second I saw Airships on stuff+'s channel, I knew I had to buy it.
Warrant Officer
Hallo, How are you gentlemen?

Well glad you made it here @Graf Melty

Hello!

Hello!
Great to be here!

Hi !
I like the atmosphere of the game, the work that has been done to obtain this and I hope to see this game in the top sales one day (but not for one day only! ;) )
See you on the forum !

Hello. I'm Lukasmah and I'm an alcoholic. /jk
Air Lord, Engineering Corps
Greetings!
Aerial Emperor
Nice congruence of name and coat of arms there, Firebird11. :D
Air Lord, Engineering Corps
Wow i didn't even notice that, thanks!

Hi, I'm Musickiller.
Some Regards, MK.

Air Lord, Engineering Corps
Nice to meet ya'!

@Bjornson It'd be nice to met ya in battle) I prefer 5000 cr ships myself =D Though my PC's laggy...

My name is Dunawolf from the Netherlands, and in this game i represent the Dunation. i got this game the 11th of June after being extreemly hyped about this thanks to Lathrix' videos about this game (search Lathland). because I absolutly adore games in wich i can design and build my own buildings and/or vehicles!
buildinggames i've been playing are: minecraft, terraria, KerbalSpaceProgram, SpaceEngineers, Robocraft, FromTheDepths, Besiege. other games i do enjoy: Don't Starve (together), GunsOfIcarusOnline (airships yay), PlanetaryAnnihilation, SupremeComanderForgedAliance, Sanctum 1&2, Portal 2, and Warthunder.
In this game found myself designing most ships between 500-2000 cost, with a few 5K+ flagships. Contact me if you ever feel like battling, i have alot of time during the weekends :)
my sincere greetings.

Bonjour toute le monde
I'm twinCatalysts and I fucked up the username when I registered. I'm from Ontario Canada and I love RTS games although I do have a wide variety of games I enjoy, including RPGs and Sandboxes, such as this game. I'm big into a webcomic called homestuck (if you know of it you probably figured out why my name is formatted as it is formatted) and I was reccomended this game by my friend. Je parle francais comme-ce comme-ca, mais mon langue premier est anglais. My favourite games include: Age of Empires, R.U.S.E, Lord of the rings: Shadow of Mordor, Terraria, Skyrim, and Tales of Maj'eyal (which if you haven't tried, I recommend, it's free on their website) Outside of video games I play piano, practice H.E.M.A (Historical European Martial Arts) and I am fascinated with history, especially medieval europe, but recently I have also been interested in the topics of WW1 and WW2, as well as Sengoku Japan.

Hi!

Aerial Emperor
Well, have you bought it since? In which case I will call off the mech-spiders, just this once. Also, uh, you can just buy a game on Steam and refund it if you don't like it. Also, hi!
Lieutenant
Oh, Steam refund. I didn't think about that >_> But yeah, if you could try not to send your mech-spiders after me, I would be very grateful...
And if by tonight I'm not being chewed on by mechanical monstrosities, you can suppose I'll be trying to mod the game, however that can be done...

My username's Freemann on Steam, but on here I wanted something Airship related. I love Airships: Conquer the Skies and I am trying to contribute to the community as much as possible, occasionally submitting bad artwork and questionable airships.

XD PS. i wonder if collab mods exist.

Agreed, my good sir.

Air Admiral
Oh....
Aerial Emperor
Hi Valinde, glad to have you aboard.
I can also vouch that Psyringe's life story is 100% accurate and free of falsehoods. :D

Hi.
Just dropping by.
I'm a lurker. So I probably won't be posting much except to ask questions every now and then.
I also play boats (feel free to guess what game).
And now I'm playing flying boats. Yay!
Aerial Emperor
Hi amade, good to meet you. Welcome to the exclusive club of people who've noticed this forum. :D
Able Airman
Hello, I'm inquisitive hume.
Air Admiral
Inquisitive hume... Welcome to the ghost town known as the airships forum!
Able Airman
I hope I can change that fact
Aerial Emperor
Greetings! It's not a ghost town, it's just a, uh, forum for the most rarefied and serious Airships players. :D
Multiplayer events and tournaments sounds super-cool. Do feel free to get in touch with me directly about that. :)
Able Airman
Alright will do
Air Lord, Engineering Corps
Keep telling yourself that Zarkonnen. In all seriousness though, the forum is actually not as sparse as it seems and it's the best place to guarantee that the developer will spot anything you have to type unlike the other Airships related forums.
..Hopefully that joke reads well across text but just in-case I'd like to announce that that first sentence was meant to be humorous..
Speaking of tournaments, I hope you will have some of them put up on Youtube or other platforms. Any popularity coming from that will probably be good popularity for the game, and most importantly the forum where I exist.
Midshipman
Hey all,
Air Lord, Engineering Corps
Redux, Seeing how tournament coordination is a big topic I recommend you create a new thread here, and put [STICKY] in the title before any other text.
That will give you a sticky thread to use for all your tournament related things. Sticky meaning it will stay at the top of the forum page for new people to see, as a tournament page should be.
Just please don't abuse the [STICKY] header, I'm sure Zarkonnen can disable that functionality if he see's it coming up everywhere for no good reason.
Midshipman
Right, understood. Once we have some more details worked out and a format devised I will make a proper listings post. Sometime after Christmas as this is probably a low for activity, and I would imagine the majority of people are still inundated.
I appreciate the early support thus far. This is a great community.

Hello, i am a Generic-Guy from germany.
I am a more causal player and my ships are more build around style than functionalaty, but they remain surprissing effective. My english is mediocore, at best, and i struggle with introducting myself.
Aerial Emperor
Hi! Welcome to the forums. Your English is fine. Are you a Stuff+ fan by any chance?
If you need to get in touch with me at any point, I do speak German BTW. :)
Midshipman
The Youtube-Channel? Yes, but only since recently... Airships was known to me earlyer than his channel. My username was also used by me, long before i heard his generic greetings the first time.
Und hey, der Entwickler spricht Deutsch. Das ist practisch.

Well, Hello, I'm Vlady I'm fairly new to this game, I like RTS games and building. That's really I have to say.
Aerial Emperor
Hi Vlady!
Ja, der Entwicker ist aus Zürich. :)
Le developpeur aussi parle Français, plus ou moins. :)
Midshipman
Why do we get russian gardening-adds?
Aerial Emperor
Because spammers. Gone now. :)
Midshipman
Zarkonnen, the spam gets weirder!

Aerial Emperor
Hi Pompeii! Welcome to the forums. :)

Commodore
Hihi!
Commodore
I am stuChris, i am new to the community, although already rich with ideas and inspiration at just 18 hours in the game, and i cant wait to get to know everyone and help out with my own ideas and such as the game progresses :) oh, and it was my birthday a couple days ago :D
Air Admiral
Hey!
Air Lord, Engineering Corps
Happy birthday and welcome! Do be sure to use the search if you have an idea to see if it's already been discussed. This forum has been around a while and chances are it may have been talked about in the past, especially if it contains boats or water.
Commodore
sees boats and water
laughs nervously
Anyways, everything else aside, welcome to A:CTS, stuChris!
Commodore
uhhh, hello? and good luck with your restaurant? (according to google translate to english)
Commodore
Zark, i think we have a problem here
Air Lord, Engineering Corps
But the bots came back the very next day, The bots came back, we thought they were a goner But the bots came back; they just couldn't stay away. Away, away, yea, yea, yea
Anyways, why does this keep happening? It always seems to be on this thread specifically. I'm starting to suspect that it's bots looking for "Introduce Yourself" on forums since that's probably an easily detectable thing common to forums.
Commodore
well too bad this isn't really used xD
Commodore
um, lucky for us, I mean. yeah. that.
Commodore
well, it happens on other forums for other games too, but in entirely unrelated posts
Commodore
ffs weve got another one...
Air Admiral
Oh God... It like an endless onslaught...
Commodore

Hello. I am Sombrero and I make mods for this game such as my supply hatch mod and harpoon gun mod. I also take mod suggestions. Just write them down on a piece of paper, crumble it up and place it inside your nearest trash bin or throw it out any window and it should get to me.
Commodore
lol, you must get your mail weighed in "tons" xD
Commodore
Zark, weve got another one...
Aerial Emperor
Oh wow, yes, problem. Nuking now...
Air Lord, Engineering Corps
I assume we're talking about spam again... If it's bots I think we could fix this by having the very first rank (ship's cat?) locked to say, 200 letters. (the size of this paragraph about right here.)
Each spam bot (if it is bots)appears to only strike once, so putting a short limit should break them and stop the spam, without re-captcha inconveniences. Or just use re-captcha or something to solve this once and for all.
Commodore
that is a great idea! :)
Able Airman
Hi! I'm Dther99 and I've been lurking around here for about a year or so now, stealing ship ideas. I'm hoping to get some feedback regarding my ships and maybe learn some modding along the way.
Lieutenant
Pip pip, tally ho! I'm Raenir, as you can see from the name beside my post. Long-time fan of the game- got introduced to it through OfficialStuffPlus, but I've watched WAY more of the game and based my purchasing decision on smaller youtubers content, since there just isn't that much content online about the game (DefendersofFaith comes to mind)!
I'm an engineering enthusiast and a not-very-good graphic designer (just good enough to appreciate beautiful things), so of course I fell in love with this game.

Nuke, that is.

i think maybe a security system could maybe be put into effect as well?

Ugh, yeah, so many spam bots. I'm sorry, guys. I've nuked them all for now, I think.
