Spent a little more time working on the design of my second ship, the ramship HMS Jean-Claude Grand Ram (Get it?!? HAHAHAHAHA!!!!). I'm really digging this ship so far. In case you're wondering, the paint job is supposed to be an aerial torpedo in flight.
HMS Jean-Claude Grand Ram
I designed it as a medium-sized ram ship with a hidden punch - aerial torpedoes! It's built with two fire door separated sections; a primary command section and a frontal ram section, and the ship owes it's robustness to several redundant crew, fire fighting, and crew quarters in each section. The ram section can be completely broken off and the command section can continue to fight as it contains the torpedoes and several Gatling guns! While expensive and somewhat heavy, the HMS JCGR still has respectable speed and lift. Exposed suspendium tanks are only there to provide an initial boost to the service ceiling to allow the ship to get into place at the start of combat. They still manage to hang on quite well due to nearby fir fighting and repair stations.
HMS JCGR Broken in two and still going!
I figure it to be well suited to blockade busting and I have tested it in many, many different combat scenarios including swarms of light airships, medium, ships, buildings, etc... and found it perfectly capable of taking out several light airships and defenses alone and has been tested against larger ships and buildings and is able to hold it's own, especially if escorted. I've even tested in dozens of times against itself so I could find it's strengths and weaknesses.
Here the HMS JCGR easily took out a group of Creosotes
I had a TON of fun working out the design of this ship and running it through dozens of test combat scenarios to work out the bugs. I hope you guys give it a try and let me know what you think. I like this ship a lot and will keep it updated with any improvements you guys suggest.
